Baby Girl Scrappy Trip Quilt
These two-inch squares in early spring color scraps create a diamond shape that focuses on the center. The off-white border is coupled with a blue and pink floral patterned fabric that feels retro and ultra-feminine. To highlight the small squares and their interesting fabrics, I hand quilted the entire quilt. The back is in dusty rose linen that is soft and quite durable to add variety without busyness to the back. The binding is a scrappy collage of all of the fabrics in the square motif.
I made a repurposed jacket out of the original fabrics. When I had some leftover, I decided the fabrics worked too well together to just leave them in my scrap bin. So I quickly made this small quilt for one lucky little girl. And since, once again, I loved it all so much, I hand quilted it in small triangles and simple lines.
